Leadworx ridge slates are designed to be an attractive and durable flashing to weather a pipe through the ridge of a tiled or slate pitched roof to ensure watertight integrity. They are made from Code 4 sheet lead milled to British Standard BS EN 12588 and are available in 5 degree increments to suit the pitch of your roof.

A lead ridge slate is a pipe flashing specifically designed to create a watertight seal where a flue or soil pipe passes through the ridge of a pitched roof. Unlike a standard lead slate which sits on the slope of a roof, a ridge slate is shaped to sit flat across the ridge apex, with an upstand spigot that fits snugly around the pipe. This makes it the correct solution for any roof installation where the pipe exits at the very top of the roof rather than through the main tile or slate surface.

Lead is the preferred material for ridge pipe flashings because of its exceptional durability, malleability, and weather resistance. A correctly installed lead ridge slate will last the lifetime of the roof. Our ridge slates are fabricated from 100% recycled Code 4 lead sheet to BS EN 12588, and are available in 5° pitch increments from 20° to 50° to ensure a precise fit on both slate and tiled roofs.
If you’re installing a twin wall flue from a wood burning stove, the most common sizes are:
For 5 inch twin wall generally 190mm diameter roof slate will be suitable. (but please check the external diameter of your pipe is less than the diameter of the lead slate)
For 6 inch twin wall generally 220mm diameter roof slate will be suitable. (but please check the external diameter of your pipe is less than the diameter of the lead slate)
