Yes it is. The lead we use comes from one of the oldest manufacturers of rolled lead sheet and is made in Great Britain using 100% recycled materials and to BS EN 12588.

Flashings are thin pieces of impervious material installed to prevent water from entering a structure through joints. Typically its installed over felt and under the tiles and slates. This helps enhance the durability of buildings and reduce the occurrence of mould issues.

There is a reason lead has remined the primary flashing material for all these years. Nothing, as of yet, has been able to beat it in terms of reliability and longevity.

Bat access tiles are designed to create safe
passageways for bats into loft and roof void roosting areas.  Besides making space for bats in developments, it’s also critical to comply with the legal requirements protecting them.Bat Access Tiles: The Ultimate Bat-Friendly Roofing Solution – Leadworx

A chimney flashing will weatherproof a chimney. To prevent water ingress and damage you need to cover the intersections of the chimney where it meets the tiles or slate and install a damp proof course (DPC). A correctly installed chimney flashing will prevent rain from seeping into the roof and should last for decades if correctly installed.

Contact the experts – If you find bats it’s important to pause any work and seek advice from your SNCO or an ecological consultant.

Bat surveys can help prevent expensive delays. It is recommended to have a qualified ecological consultant conduct surveys of the site for bats.

Damp is a common issue that can compromise the structural integrity of buildings, cause health problems, and lead to costly repairs if left untreated. A practical solution to prevent dampness is the use of lead flashing, a durable and effective material that serves as a weatherproof barrier. Damp can occur due to various factors, including:

  • Rainwater Penetration: Poorly sealed roofs, chimneys, or walls can allow rainwater to seep into a property.
  • Rising Damp: This occurs when groundwater travels up through porous building materials such as bricks.
  • Condensation: Insufficient ventilation can lead to moisture buildup inside a building.
  • Defective Guttering: Blocked or broken gutters may cause water to overflow, soaking the walls.

Temperature Regulation – Having sufficient ventilation helps in releasing hot air, maintaining temperatures, and creating a more energy-efficient home.

Condensation Prevention – When warm, humid air comes into contact with a cold surface, it results in the formation of water droplets, known as condensation. In the case of a roof space, condensation can have negative effects. Including the growth of mould, wood decay, and damage to insulation.
