Rolled Lead Sheet milled to BSEN 12588:2006 is the best to use in the construction industry as it provides the most consistent thickness and highest quality product.<\/li><li>Machine Cast Lead \u2013 made by immersing a rotating water-cooled metal drum into a bath of molten lead. As the drum turns, the lead solidifies on the surface and is peeled off as it emerges wound into coils.<\/li><li>Sand Cast Lead \u2013 made in small batches by pouring molten lead onto a prepared bed of sand to a desired thickness<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong><u>Health and Safety<\/u><\/strong><\/h3><p>When using lead sheet:<\/p><ul><li>Lift with care \u2013 seek assistance as it is a heavy product that often surprises people.<\/li><li>Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with lead<\/li><li>Wear the appropriate protective clothing, steel toe boots, overalls, gloves etc<\/li><li>Apply a hand barrier cream where possible<\/li><li>Wash hands and forearms thoroughly before doing other activities<\/li><\/ul><p>More Information can be found on the Lead Sheet Association (LSA) website.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/leadsheet.co.uk\/service\/health-and-safety\/\">Health and Safety &#8211; Lead Sheet Training Academy<\/a><\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/leadsheet.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2018\/05\/ELSIA-LeadworkerSafetyDoc-UK.pdf\">ILA-LeadworkerSafetyDoc2-UK-AW (leadsheet.co.uk)<\/a><\/p><h3><strong><u>How to measure pitch<\/u><\/strong><\/h3><p>The angle of a roof is a measure of the underside of the roof from the horizontal as shown in the diagram. If you can access the rafters in your property and can measure the angle it is this angle you are measuring.<\/p><p>The slope of the roof (Pitch) is the ratio of vertical distance (Rise) to Horizontal distance (Run). We class the left side as the left hand and the right side as the right hand. We use which side of the structure the product goes on rather than which side of the roof it is on.
